Sort before you wash
A three-bin hamper for lights, darks, delicates, saves the floor-drobe and the pre-wash sort. Label each bin clearly so the whole family can participate without creating accidental tie-dye.
If space is tight, use stackable mesh baskets or a slim rolling cart that tucks beside the washer.
Corral the supplies
Decant detergent, stain remover and dryer balls into matching containers. A clear acrylic caddy keeps stain pens, a lint roller and a mesh bag together for quick grab-and-go sorting.
Store backstock — the extra bottle of detergent or bulk pods — on a high shelf so daily essentials stay within easy reach.
Create a folding zone
Even a narrow shelf above the appliances becomes a folding station. Add a small basket for single socks and another for items headed to the dry cleaner.
Hang a retractable drying rack or a row of hooks for air-dry pieces. When every step of laundry has a designated spot, the chore stops feeling chaotic.
